A better specification starts with the duty
Define operating pressure, useful output, load variation, fuel, feedwater and site constraints. Include expansion plans, redundancy and the cost of downtime. Gather measured plant data where possible rather than selecting solely from the existing nameplate.
Compare complete installed scope
Ask proposals to separate boiler equipment, burner, controls, auxiliaries, freight, lifting, installation, commissioning and regulatory responsibilities. Confirm what is included, who performs each activity, and what documents will be supplied.
Before committing to equipment
Verify applicable design registration, manufacturer’s data reports and Alberta acceptance. For used or imported equipment, review history, condition and documentation before purchase. Availability, supply relationships and pricing require a project-specific confirmation.
