HIGH-TEMPERATURE DUTY

Thermal fluid heaters

Indirect process heating with a thermal fluid circuit. Consider fluid stability, flow and safe expansion together.

Start with process temperature

Define useful temperature at the heat user, duty and heat-transfer approach. Fluid selection must account for bulk and film temperature limits, viscosity and compatibility, using the fluid manufacturer’s technical data.

Protect circulation

Minimum flow, expansion capacity, inerting where required, leak management and temperature protection are part of an engineered system. Do not treat a thermal fluid heater as a direct substitute for a steam boiler without a plant assessment.

Plan fluid maintenance

Track sample results, oxidation, contamination and degradation. Clarify drain-down, disposal, fluid replacement and safe access in the maintenance scope. Confirm Alberta pressure-equipment requirements for the specific configuration.
