Walk the entire heat path
Review exposed water lines, make-up systems, fuel supply, ventilation openings, drains and outdoor equipment with the facility team. Freeze protection must suit the equipment, fluid and site conditions. Do not obstruct combustion air or ventilation.
Review the failure scenarios
Identify essential heat loads, spare capacity, critical parts and the practical time required to install temporary equipment. Verify contact routes with your actual service providers and document responsibilities without assuming emergency availability.
Close out before the cold
Resolve outstanding defects through appropriately qualified parties, confirm maintenance records, and rehearse the site’s escalation and safe shutdown procedures. Use manufacturer guidance and the approved facility plan; this checklist is a planning aid.
